UT Regents Determine Lab’s Fate

KUT: Regents of the University of Texas are set to meet via teleconference Tuesday regarding U.T. Austin’s Brackenridge Field Laboratory. The lab is located on the Brackenridge Tract, an area of west Austin that the Board of Regents wants to see redeveloped. The area also contains Austin’s Lions Municipal Golf Course, which was the source of friction between the Regents and supporters of the public golf course. The Brackenridge Lab, located near Lake Austin and Lady Bird Lake, studies biodiversity.

KUT: The University of Texas at Austin has laid off 25 people in its Information Technology Services office. Officials say the staff reduction is part of UT efforts to cut costs during the economic recession.
