Bill White spoke to supporters in Houston as he publicly conceded defeat to Gov. Rick Perry.
Perry maintained throughout the election that the Texas Governor’s race was a referendum on President Obama. His focus on the president, Washington D.C. and fawning media coverage has led many to think that he is making a run for president.
“I think probably the best display, the best concrete evidence that I’m really not running for president is this book, because when you read this book, you’re going to see me talking about issues that for someone running for public office, it’s kind of been the third rail if you will. … But these are issues that really need to be talked about” (Washington Post).
