It’s been a rough strech for Democratic gubernatorial candidate Farouk Shami. He’s not into voting on a regular basis. He didn’t even vote for the man who he says is the source for his inspiration, Barack Obama.
Now, his jobs plan is getting a bit more scrutiny. Shami says he can create jobs himself. In the Statesman video below by Ken Herman, Shami says “What we’re going to be doing is opening small factories in all communities that need jobs. … The first project is to manufacture solar panels and train people to install solar panels. So that is the first project that you will see, in Houston. … I’m hoping within two months we would have a functioning factory. Houston is stressed because of the government of Houston that really lost jobs and [has] bad deficits.”
Herman seems to get under Shami’s skin by asking for more details on what the role of the government is in job creation.
